Trial Grounds |
Trial Grounds is a game mode released in A Mermaid's Tale update (v4.9), coinciding with the release of 
Sea Fairy Cookie and 
Black Pearl Cookie's Crystal Jams. In this mode, players battle through a set of challenging levels to obtain Life Jewels. It is unlocked once a player clears Stage 5-28 in World Exploration.
Overview[]
Every week, players battle through a set of stages which rewards the players Life Jewels, Sugar Crystals and other rewards. As these stages are themed around making use of the Crystal Jam's effects, the Cookie with their respective Crystal Jam is required to be placed in the team.
The player is provided with the required Cookie with a full set of Searing Raspberry toppings, but the player may swap it for their own Cookie. There are a total of 10 stages which present Stages of increasing difficulty and growing rewards. Possessing the Crystal Jam of the featured Cookie will provide extra buffs to the Cookie and the allies, which scale with the level of the Crystal Jam.
Trial Grounds can be attempted seven times per week at default. Purchasing the Kingdom Pass will grant three extra attempts per week for a total of 10 attempts. Trial Ground Tickets can be used to replenish attempts, but are only earned limited-time events or shop offers.
After clearing all ten stages of a particular Stage, the Trial of Glory is unlocked for that Stage. This is a boss battle where one of three different bosses can be battled each week, reaping higher rewards than other stages. Bosses primarily serve as damage sponges in this event, while damage dealt to them is recorded in each week's leaderboard. Only one Stage's Trial of Glory is activated each week.

- Crystalline Radiance: Whenever certain enemies use specific skills or get hit, the gauge will fill up. Once the gauge is full, Cookies will gain the Frozen status. Once the Frozen status wears off or is dispelled, the Cookie will take damage proportional to their Max HP. With each further repetition of this process, the damage will increase.

- Beckoning Dreams: Whenever certain enemies use specific skill or get hit, your Cookies will gain the Weary status. Once Weary is fully stacked, the Cookie will fall Asleep. When the Sleep status wears off or is dispelled, the Cookie will take damage proportional to their Max HP. With each further repetition of this process, the damage will increase.
