Tower of Sweet Chaos was a game mode introduced in the Tiers of Chaos update (v1.4). It features numerous battle challenges that players must overcome in order to climb the tower and earn rewards. It was unlocked after clearing Stage 4-12 in World Exploration.

Each season lasted for two months and contains 250 Trays to challenge. The original Tower Of Sweet Chaos ended on January 19th, 2024, with season 18 as its final season. All events related to it were closed, the related achievements removed, the related Cookie Odyssey missions and Cookie Technologies altered, and the related Titles and Profile Picture locked. Any buffs related to it were also swapped with different buffs.

Trays

The Tower was composed of Trays, which were special challenges that consist of both a set of enemies to be defeated and a set of restrictions for your team composition to follow. Most Trays consisted of different stage compositions using enemies from World Exploration, with some being PvP battles against preset Cookie teams and others being Boss battles. Each Season's Trays feature different compositions, but grant the same rewards for clearing them.

In order to challenge a Tray, a player must have the required number of Searing Keys. Clearing a Tray for the first time rewards EXP Star Jellies, Coins, and Chaos Cake Pieces, while repeating a cleared Tray rewards a smaller amount of the EXP Star Jellies and Coins. As players ascend the Tower by clearing Trays, rewards granted from clearing Trays will become greater; however, enemies will also become stronger while restrictions will become tighter, requiring a wider selection of high-leveled Cookies to clear. At the highest-numbered Trays, players may also be restricted by the number of Cookies they can use, or have their Treasures disabled.

Some levels of the Tower will present two trays, either of which may be cleared to progress. Other levels will present two Chaotic Treasure Chests, which can be opened with Searing Keys to grant a set variety of rewards and allow the player to progress. While players only need to choose one of the two to progress, they are free to clear the remaining Tray or unlock the remaining Chest at any time during the season.

Trays in the Tower of Sweet Chaos rewards a substantial amount of EXP Star Jellies, making it one of the best sources of Star Jellies for new players. They were also the only source of Chaos Cake Pieces, which are used to purchase and upgrade the Ominous Cake Tower landmark, as well as decors from the St. Pastry Order theme; these were moved to the Today's Bounties mode upon discontinuation.

Tray Jumping

Tray Jumping is a feature introduced in the Stories by the Fireplace update (v3.10). Players may spend a certain number of Searing Keys and Time Jumpers to rise up the Tower by any multiple of 50 Trays, beginning the tower in the highest tier reached in the previous season. They will receive all First Win rewards granted by all trays skipped this way, but will not unlock any Chaotic Treasure Chests. Skipped levels may still be replayed, and skipped Chaotic Treasure Chests may still be unlocked.

50 Tiers Event Rewards

Each reward is unlocked upon reaching the given Tray for the first time. Certain milestones also unlock Story content. Both the rewards and any progress made do not reset between seasons.

Tray 250 First Clear Reward

Once Tray 250 is cleared for the first time, players will obtain a special profile icon, title and a huge sum of rewards.
