St. Pastry Order
On that fateful day, all residing here will meet providence... the hands of greatness, headdress of wisdom, and mountainous shadow will grace us all.

The St. Pastry Order (Korean: 생 페스츄어리 교단, saeng pesuchyueoli gyodan, "Pastuary Order") was a religious sect dedicated to worshiping the Witches of the First Oven who created the first Cookies. It was founded by the Head Icon High Forkbearer.

The Order believed in providence through sacrificial death, as reflected by their understanding of the original purpose of Cookies as mere desserts for the Witches. They used violent force and mental conditioning to muffle this truth from the outside world, however, and to indoctrinate other Cookies into joining the group. The group publicly recruited Cookies via unassuming missionaries, but also utilized public service buildings such as churches to quietly indoctrinate children and teach them the Order's beliefs.

It is heavily implied that some members adopted new names after a certain point within the order, effectively discarding their previous identities. Those who joined the Shadow Sisters sect are fully privy to the Order's guarded truths and ensure the Order's secrets are kept from escaping its walls by whatever means necessary.

The Order believed itself to oversee a greater aspect of the past and future than other groups, and that despite their secretive attitude, "to walk without the truth in mind is to walk without purpose". They foretell that the "First Oven" will eventually reopen and that "all dough shall become One", a destiny that they believed justifies all actions that they take against other Cookies. They seek to acquire the Soul Jams for unknown purposes and have crafted some of their weaponry to mimic those wielded by the Ancient Heroes.

The Order had a tangible presence in the Crème Republic through the Cookies in White Masks, where it was able to remain completely hidden in plain sight until the events of Cookie Odyssey.

In the most recent story, the High Forkbearer Doughael returned from their encounter in the rift and regained control over the Order, seeking to complete the Avatar of Destiny, unaware that the Avatar is an amalgamation of several Cookies and has consumed them. The High Forkbearer and other cookies are consumed by the completed Avatar, causing chaos amongst the remaining followers who fled and have abandoned their faith, most notable ones are Head Icon Menthol Cookie and Head Icon Seltzer Cookie, who had their realization hit that their faith was nothing more than lies crafted by Doughael. This whole event has ceased the Order to exist, presumably ending the cruel manipulation of St. Pastry Order.

"St. Pastry"[]

A figure named "St. Pastry" does not actually exist in the canon of Cookie Run: Kingdom—that is to say, "St. Pastry" is an invention of the English localization of the game.

The original Korean name of the St. Pastry Order, 생 페스츄어리 교단 (saeng pesuchyueoli gyodan), is a pun/combination of the words 페스츄리 (pesuchyuli) and 생츄어리 (saengchyueoli), those being transliterations of the English words "pastry" and "sanctuary" respectively; in turn, a more direct translation of this name would be something like "Pastuary Order". Such a combination of words and their subsequent translation would be difficult for English audiences to understand, so localizers instead invented the St. Pastry figure to serve as the Order's name.

Real-Life Inspiration[]

The St. Pastry Order and its beliefs takes heavy inspiration from Christianity, sharing many similarities with this religion in terms of visual elements. The styling of St. Pastry convent members is highly reminiscent of a Christian nun's habit, consisting of a partial coif cap, wimple shoulder shawl, and guimpe veil alongside a long tunic and scapula robe. In Pastry Cookie's case, her silver crossbow-fork perpetually being strapped to her hand may be a stand-in for the silver ring a nun may wear to represent their perpetual vows. Reverend Mother Cookie, the head nun of Pastry Cookie's particular convent also holds a metal thurible, a tool used frequently in Christian mass.

Pastry Cookie, Doughael, Seltzer Cookie, and Menthol Cookie typically recite phrases formatted similarly to Bible verses, such as "Book of Salt, 3:2. '... may thy will guide the fork of your humble servant'" or "Book of Butter, 14:11. "Cookies shall confess their true flavors to the Witches'". Pastry Cookie's Decor, the Clandestine Rendezvous resembles a Christian-style confessional as well.
