For the Tainted Forest boss, see Tainted Ent.

Mountain Ents (as well as their variant, Sprouted Mountain Ents) are regular enemies that appear in World Exploration Episode 13, Snow on the Black Wall. They are stationary ranged attackers.

Behavior[]

Mountain Ents are stationary foes, popping out of their stumps to attack once Cookies approach. They are always positioned far behind other enemies, typically in pairs, and attack by shooting a large root out of the ground to strike their target. They will not move under any circumstances, and are immune to displacement.

Regular Mountain Ents target the Cookie with the highest ATK and inflict Status Shackles Shackles, preventing them from taking any actions. This effect lasts long enough that the afflicted Cookie only has a few moments to act before they are attacked again. Sprouted Mountain Ents also target the Cookie with the highest ATK, but instead inflict Status Corruption Corruption, a stacking damage-over-time effect.

Tips[]

  • In Story Mode, Mountain Ents can be a great to hindrance one's progress simply by keeping one's strongest Cookie constantly Shackled. In Dark Mode, they can not only prevent that Cookie from doing anything, but also gradually knock out a team's Cookies.
  • Know which Cookie on the team has the highest ATK before entering a stage with Mountain Ents to know who will be targeted by them. Cookies with Skills that can either resist interrupting effects or apply their effects immediately will be a much better target than those whose Skills can't. More durable Cookies (or Cookies with a lot of DMG Resist) can also be a much more resilient target, and easier to keep alive until the Ents are defeated.
  • In waves where Sprinkled Yetis are paired with Mountain Ents, it can be helpful to allow the Yetis to push the team back and out of the Mountain Ents' attack range. While this costs time to clear the stage, it can allow a team to defeat the Yetis and other enemies without taking hits from the Mountain Ents.
  • Despite the reduced healing and shielding in Episode 13, it's still possible to outheal the damage dealt by these enemies, given enough Healing and/or Support Cookies. Blind Healer's Staff Blind Healer's Staff can be an especially helpful complement in that regard, applying a powerful heal-over-time to a single Cookie.
  • Because the Status Shackles Shackles/ Status Corruption Corruption debuff is applied on each attack, purifying effects are best used when the player needs to free the targetted Cookie, instead of being left on auto-cast.
