All Cookies and enemies have skills; unique abilities that can help them or their allies in battle offensively or defensively in a variety of ways. They also have regular attacks, which are used automatically and continuously without any input.
Some Cookies' skills are changed to an improved version if they have either a Magic Candy or a Crystal Jam. Each Magic Candy and Crystal Jam is available to a specific Cookie, and can be upgraded to further improve the Cookie's skill.
- Currently, only Epic-rarity Cookies have Magic Candies.
- Currently, only Legendary-rarity Cookies have Crystal Jams.
- Golden Cheese Cookie is currently the only playable Cookie with an "alternate" skill ( Sarcophagus of Gold), which is separate from Magic Candies and Crystal Jams.
- Most enemies and bosses have multiple skills, sometimes accompanied by a passive skill.
Usage[]
Cookies[]
Most if not all Cookie skills require Cooldown to finish before being able to use it. The waiting time can shortened by reducing said stat. At the start of the battle, some Cookies' skill have a initial or "starting" Cooldown, enabling it to be used faster than usual.
Skills can be cast in two different ways, both which (typically) require valid target(s) in the skill's range:
- Manual casting refers to the player tapping the Cookie's card icon.
- Auto casting refers to using the game's "Auto" function in battle (permanently toggled in Kingdom Arena and Super Mayhem).
- Auto cast will prioritize the skills of the frontmost Cookies, even if their Cooldown finishes at the same time. However, the casting is noticeably delayed for each skill, which may need the player to manually tap the skills themselves if they wish (and if possible).
Interrupting Effects and occassionally Movement-impairing Effects can forcefully end a skill's duration while it's being cast. Crowd Control debuffs prevent skills from being cast entirely.
Enemies[]
For enemies (from PvE content) to use their skills, instead of using Cooldown, they have to perform a certain amount of "actions" to use their skill. Every regular attack and skill they use counts as one action.
Components[]
Any skill can possess one or more of the following components; variations may vary.
- Regular Attack: Technically not part of a skill, only mentioned in Playable Cookie (and occassionally enemy) skill descriptions to mention what their effects are, if any.
- Cooldown: Determines the wait time to use a skill.
- Scaling: Determines the effectiveness of a skill through Stats.
- Passive: Some skills have effects that are and/or can be active at any time and do not need the any manual input, however most are context-sensitive.
- Effects: A variety of effects from skills.
- Damage allows Cookies to reduce enemy HP and defeat them.
- Healing recovers lost health as a means to sustain.
- Buffs granted to the caster and/or their allies for benefits.
- Debuffs inflicted on the caster's enemies to hinder them.
- Shields absorb incoming damage and prevent direct health loss.
- Intangibility allows avoiding of being targeted by enemies. Safeguarded is a similar, but permanent effect on certain Cookies that prevents any damage and/or debuffs from enemies (unless stated otherwise).
- Elements
There are some additional mechanics to skill usage:
Mechanic | Information |
---|---|
Transformation | The skill remains active for a certain duration. Should the caster be affected by interrupting effects during a Transformation, the duration will continue instead of being cut short, and the caster will function normally once the effect expires.
