“ Want a taste of THIS hammer? „
Schwarzwälder (Korean: 찰스, chalseu, "Charles"), also known as Choco Werehound Brute and occasionally Choco Werehound Princess, is an Epic Cookie released in the Braver Together! update (v3.8). He is of the Charge type and his position is prioritized to the Front.
Choco Werehound Brute—or, according to many, Schwarzwälder—is an underling of Licorice Cookie and follower of Dark Enchantress Cookie who relishes in violence, fear, and all things bad... alongside tea and other more refined things, though he'd rather no one knows about that. Raised in a noble family, this conflicted yet ambitious Cake Monster wants nothing more than to abandon his past and be known as only a rowdy ruffian instead of a pampered pooch.
Game Description[]
Red eyes, rough mane, sharp fangs! His name is Choco Werehound Brute, and his enormous hammer will make the Cookie Kingdom tremble! And if the sound of the distant thumping of this fearsome giant's heavy feet is not enough, his roar will make you faint! Choco Werehound Brute might be no more than Licorice Cookie's underling running itsy-bitsy errands, but his ambitions do not end here. Far from it! One day, he will become the strongest Cake Monster, and then, THEN...! The whole world will fear the name "Choco Werehound Brute!" And so, the big dreamer bids farewell to another gorgeous sunset under the pouring rain... The life of an upstart villain is rough and tough, but Choco Werehound Brute must be strong. He must not let anyone know of his proper aristocratic upbringing and his real name... Schwarzwälder.

Appearance[]
As with all hound-type Cake Monsters, Choco Werehound Brute possesses wolf-like qualities, even being able to howl like a wolf. The term "werehound" indicates that he has qualities of both a typical Cookie and of a Cake Monster, similarly to how a werewolf is a half-human/half-wolf individual. His base form seems to be made entirely from chocolate ingredients (perhaps including black forest cake, as his name suggests), with his torso being a cupcake, his head a slice of cake, and his fur icing and/or syrup, while his eyes and horns are likely made with cherry ingredients typical of black forest cake. His hammer is presumably made from a roll cake in a similar way to Roll Cake Cookie's own hammer.
Personality[]
Choco Werehound Brute, alongside Bat-Cat, is a loyal underling of Licorice Cookie and generally refers to him as "Master".
Choco Werehound Brute acts in a very haughty, tough manner, acting particularly contrarily to those who oppose him or doubt his abilities. He doesn't take losses very gracefully and often goes through unfair measures to ensure his victory or spite those who have already defeated him, as do the rest of Licorice Cookie's gang. Choco Werehound Brute is initially presented as being an empty-headed ruffian—lending well to his title of "brute"—which is especially apparent in regards to his (now absent) rudimentary, incomplete way of speaking.
Despite his hardened presentation, Brute possesses a sense of dignity and a desire for personal fulfillment underneath, which he mentions on occasion when he becomes too stressed; for instance, he tells Licorice Cookie he "has [a] private life too" after being demanded too many times by him. It also seems that Choco Werehound Brute has a refined side, which he tries to hide to the best of his ability. His description states that he comes from a "proper aristocratic upbringing," his brutish speech and tone often slip into something more gentle in his quotes, and he is said to enjoy a cup of tea alone in secret when his coworkers grate on him too much.
Choco Werehound Brute's real name, Schwarzwälder, is a German word meaning "black forest", in reference to the German dessert known as a black forest gateau. It may be a remnant of the high-class family and lifestyle of his past, likely abandoning it as it does not fit the tough demeanor he wishes to show. As a Cake Monster with a name based on a European dessert, he is similar to Esterházy, a butler NPC shown during Episode 10; it is unknown if these two are related beyond sharing a species.
Story[]
Acting as the muscle of Licorice Cookie's group, Choco Werehound Brute is exceedingly strong and capable of devastating damage against the average opponent, appearing noticeably larger than most other characters. Despite this, GingerBrave and friends have little difficulty in defeating him multiple times, after which he either immediately retreats or leaves the rest of the fighting to someone else. He appears as a Boss in Stages 1-13 and 2-11, as well as a Boss in 12-13 as Choco Werehound Princess.
He returns in Grandberry Market disguised as the Choco Werehound Princess, participating as the Darkness gang's entry into the Princess Contest. He speaks very formally to play the part, and he uses a feminine-sounding voice as well. As the contest progresses, he becomes more committed to the role but also struggles as the competitions escalate. He manages to pass every test, but is ultimately disqualified when he attacks the other contestants out of retaliation for their remarks.
