The Pomegranate Village is a village in an unknown part of Earthbread, shrouded by the Tainted Forest. The village tradition trains Cookies to become priests for its Sacred Pomegranate Tree. As a sub area, it can be visited in its respective World Exploration Episode.
At some point in the past, Pomegranate Cookie used a cursed crimson gem to burn down the Sacred Pomegranate Tree along with the rest of the village and its homes. The villagers managed to escape with a single pomegranate fruit and used it to regrow the Sacred Tree. The village was eventually rebuilt with great effort.
Known Residents[]
Notes[]
- Guarding the village is a spirit called the Ent, an Ent being one of a race of tree-people originating from J. R. R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings.
- Pomegranate Cookie was formerly the Pomegranate Village's high priestess, though she forfeited this position after cursing and setting the village on fire by Dark Enchantress Cookie's command.
- Priestess Cookie A took over the role of the high priestess.
- Several traps are laid around the village in order to deter outsiders. Both Priestess Cookies express surprise and hostility towards GingerBrave and friends after seeing them bypass these traps, but welcome them after realizing the party wishes to assist them.
- The Sacred Pomegranate Branch treasure appears to be a clipping from the village's Sacred Pomegranate Tree.
- The site of the former Pomegranate Village is at the Ancient Altar.
Trivia[]
- The Pomegranate Village seems to be inspired by Shinto shrines, with the priestesses taking on the role of miko (巫女), or shrine maidens. This is somewhat curious, as Pomegranate Cookie seems to be more based on the Korean mudang (무당) and Muism than the Japanese miko and Shinto.
