Ssso you want to see my true form?
Pitaya Dragon Cookie (Korean: 용과 드래곤 쿠키, yong-gwa duraegon kuki), also known as the Red Dragon, the Greenish Red Dragon, or simply the Pitaya Dragon, is a Dragon Cookie released alongside
Royal Margarine Cookie in the Legend of the Red Dragon update (v4.5). They are of the
Charge type and their position is prioritized to the
Front.
Originally from Cookie Run: OvenBreak, they first appeared as an NPC who appears in the first part of the Heart of Courage and Passion update (v2.0) in World Exploration's Grandberry Market and Hollyberry Palace. They are the final boss of Hollyberry Palace.
Though it was defeated by
Hollyberry Cookie in the past, Pitaya Dragon Cookie took over the Hollyberry Kingdom throne once she disappeared, ruling the region with an iron fist. After their multiple defeats, they later appear in the forests of the Hollyberry Kingdom in the Legend of the Red Dragon Story, with their power mysteriously vanishing.
Game Description[]
Eons ago, terrifying creatures roamed the land. Existing long before Cookies ran, there was a gargantuan Red Dragon with flames burning hotter than brimstone and scales shining brighter than rubies. Within the crater of a volcano, the dragon would wake with a thunderous roar that shook the heavens. Soaring the skies, this legendary behemoth terrorized the world with cataclysmic firestorms. Cookies of the past told tales of this tremendous creature meddling with mortal affairs and burning entire kingdoms down to the ground... until its powers suddenly began to wane. Could it be that one of the dragon's nefarious deals went awry...? After biding time behind a veil of smoke and lava, a smaller and crispier form emerged: Pitaya Dragon Cookie. Will the world witness the dreaded firestorms of legend once more?

Appearance[]
Pitaya Dragon Cookie is a relatively thick, average-height Cookie with bubblegum pink dough. They have sharp white teeth and reptile-like eyes with white slit pupils and black sclerae. They have dark red markings under their eyes. Their white hair is presumably a ponytail that's long and fluffy, with black seeds in it, resembling the flesh of a dragon fruit. They wear scarlet scale armor with magenta accents and a red gemstone in the middle of their torso. They wear armor shoulder blades that have two spikes going up. They wear a helmet with five spikes going up and a diamond shape in the middle. They have a red tail that fades to a palm green. Both of their legs have two light green spikes on the side. The end of their tail is missing from when
Knight Cookie chopped it off.
In their disguise, their frontal hair slicks to the back with a side bang that appears on the left side on them. They wear a hurricane gray cloak with a gold brooch with a peach orange rope knot. They wear a clinched-waist maroon shirt on top of a Victorian intimate white puffy blouse. Their gloves are black with X's on them and their pants are also black. Their tail is loosely hidden behind their cloak.
Personality[]
On the day the world is engulfed in a sea of fire, a dragon that will plunge the world into chaos shall awaken.
Just when the world was still young, a legend began to spread among all Cookiekind — the tale of a red and greenish dragon who lived in a blazing land now known as Dragon's Valley. That legendary creature was none other than Pitaya Dragon Cookie.
Pitaya Dragon Cookie is an ancient dragon whose name has been told in countless stories, often described as a fearsome and powerful being. They are said to have existed “long before Cookies ran.” Despite their legendary status, Pitaya Dragon Cookie’s personality is quite unusual for someone so mighty. They’re cocky and see almost everyone beneath them — especially Cookies. To them, Cookies are fragile, tiny, and weak beings, far too boring to be worth their time. Because of this, the dragon constantly seeks something — or someone — exciting enough to break that boredom. And for them, that excitement comes from battle.
"HSSSSS! You Cookiesss are boring! ALL OF YOU! But HER...!"
Pitaya Dragon Cookie has fought many opponents throughout history. One of their fights was against
Knight Cookie, who managed to chop off part of the dragon’s tail. But their most memorable fight was against
Hollyberry Cookie, the Queen Mother herself. She actually managed to defeat Pitaya Dragon Cookie, earning their respect. Since then, the dragon has considered her the only Cookie who was truly “fun” and longs to face her again one day.
Even though Pitaya Dragon Cookie has a poor opinion of Cookies in general, seeing most of them as weak and fragile, there are a few they find amusing, peculiar, or brave enough to be worth their attention. Because of the dragon’s incredible power, many Cookies have tried to reach them throughout history. Countless brave souls have ventured into the Dragon's Valley in search of their nest. Once there, Cookies would share their wishes with the dragon, hoping Pitaya Dragon Cookie would grant them. However, their fate depended entirely on the dragon’s judgment. Most Cookies never received what they wanted—and never returned home. But for the rare few whose wishes were granted, it became a story to boast about for a lifetime. One of these lucky few was
Mala Sauce Cookie, whose wish for the Mala Tribe to thrive was granted. The most famous example, however, is
Fire Spirit Cookie, who obtained the dragon’s bead—a powerful relic that gave him incredible strength and fire magic. Owning this bead creates a strong binding contract with the greenish dragon, though Pitaya Dragon Cookie tends to brush off the importance of such deals.
"The Dragonsssworn alssso vowed to bake the mossst perfectly sssweet Cookie...!!!"
After the Dark Flour War and
Hollyberry Cookie’s withdrawal from her kingdom, Pitaya Dragon Cookie took advantage of her absence and invaded. They spread fear among the Cookies by turning half the kingdom to ashes. During their rule, they acted like a tyrant who cared little for others, often threatening Jungleberry Cookie and Royal Berry Cookie to obey their orders — or risk seeing the kingdom burn again.
Though Pitaya Dragon Cookie clearly doesn’t care much for others, there are rare moments that show a hint of respect for those who prove their worth. For example, they barely seemed to care about losing part of their tail to Knight Cookie — even forgetting about it at times. Before they were overthrown from the Hollyberry Kingdom, they were even surprised at how strong
Princess Cookie and
Knight Cookie were, despite their small size. The dragon also seems quite fond of
Snapdragon Cookie, finding the little one’s boldness and energy amusing even right after hatching.
Pitaya Dragon Cookie believes themself to be superior to everyone and is extremely confident in their strength. However, their pride has often led to their downfall. When a Shady Noble told them that Royal Berry Cookie and Jungleberry Cookie were plotting behind their back, they flew into a furious rage and nearly destroyed the entire palace. That same arrogance once caused them to lose much of their power — when
White Lily Cookie visited their lands, she made them promise that if her story entertained them, they would grant her the source of life. Bound by their own Dragontongue oath — one even they couldn’t break — Pitaya Dragon Cookie was forced to keep their word and lost much of their strength as a result.
The Dragontongue is an ancient and complex language that almost no one can understand. Pitaya Dragon Cookie, however, speaks and understands it perfectly. They mention that this language isn’t meant for “simple mortals,” but for ancient beings like themselves. To them, Dragontongue is sacred—it holds the very essence of dragon life. If Pitaya Dragon Cookie swears an oath in this language, not even they can break it, for the magic of the words forces them to keep their promise.
"The arrogance... How dare you try to deceive me...!"
When Pitaya Dragon Cookie becomes enraged, they struggle to control themselves. Their fangs bare, their eyes blaze with fury, and all they can think about is burning and destroying everything in sight. This uncontrollable rage usually stems from their pride—they absolutely despise being outsmarted by what they call “inferior Cookies.” They are also fiercely possessive of their nest and throne, as seen in the “Legend of the Red Dragon” special episode, where the dragon flies into a furious rampage after discovering something has dared to disturb their throne.
Even though they are no longer the all-powerful legend they once were, Pitaya Dragon Cookie seems unbothered. They’ve already regained much of their strength and are confident that, soon enough, their full power will return.
Age Notes[]
Pitaya Dragon Cookie's age is not confirmed. However, the following details relate to their age and can be used to draw inferences on how old they may be.
- All dragons are nigh-immortal.
- Pitaya Dragon Cookie cares for a child,
Snapdragon Cookie.
Trivia[]
- According to their loading screen trivia, "Long long ago, when the legendary red dragon called the Dragon's Valley their home, thundering roars echoed throughout the valley for three days and three nights."
- Pitaya Dragon Cookie's Appearing Cookies section in Legend of the Red Dragon reads as such:
- "Before I had tried battling a ssstrong Cookie, taking napsss on my magma throne wasss my favorite passstime."
- "Neither of thossse
berry Cookiesss amussse me with their jessst." - "I cannot ssstop thinking... What goesss in Dragonhead Ssstew if not dragon's head...?"
- "Do not asssk me about other dragonsss... They're nothing but bothersssome, cowardly creaturesss."
- "Thossse pitaya seedsss that fall from my head? Heh, try and plant them and sssee for yourssself if you're curiousss."
- While not an exact match, this line may be a reference to the idiom of "sowing dragon's teeth", meaning to cause strife through the actions meant to avoid it.[2][3] This idiom was born from the mythological Spartoi, who were armed warriors of Ares said to spring forth from the earth where the teeth of a dragon were sown.
- Pitaya Dragon Cookie's true form is their Red Dragon form. They take their Cookie form on occasion only because it takes less power and energy to maintain than their full draconic build.
- Pitaya Dragon Cookie speaks with a lisp, extending S-sounds in speech in a way that resembles hissing. This speech quirk is wholly absent in all languages of the game other than English.
- They will sometimes speak with the same lisp when they say certain words that have a C in them. This may be because the letter C can sound like the letter S in specific words.
- Pitaya Dragon Cookie is missing the tip of its tail; this is a result of
Knight Cookie cutting it off at one point in the past while battling it.
- Funnily enough, it seemed to have forgotten about this happening and its tail missing its tip entirely when reminded of it in Hollyberry Palace and in their Interaction.
- Pitaya Dragon Cookie was the initial source of
Fire Spirit Cookie's power, as it is the supplier of his Red Dragon's Bead.
- In one of the cutscenes of the Legend of the Red Dragon story, which can only be unlocked through Dark Mode, Pitaya Dragon Cookie confirms that they had given a dragon's orb to "sssome crumbling Cookie" whose persistence they found amusing. So far, this corroborates with Fire Spirit Cookie's recollection of his deal with the Pitaya Dragon in OvenBreak, where he appealed to the dragon while trapped in an eternal flame.
- Pitaya Dragon Cookie is the only known Cookie who can understand
Snapdragon Cookie's babbling. - In an interaction with
Mala Sauce Cookie, Pitaya Dragon Cookie reveals that they had previously granted her a wish, the result of which allowed the Mala Tribe to thrive. This implies that an unseen event similar to their story in OvenBreak, where Mala Sauce Cookie petitions Pitaya Dragon Cookie to help her tribe, also occurs in the timeline of Kingdom.
Pitaya Dragon Cookie's "sly" sprite
- Pitaya Dragon Cookie is the only character in the entirety of Cookie Run: Kingdom who has a story sprite using the emotion title "sly".
- In an utterly unique instance, a complete collection of beta, unused voicelines for Pitaya Dragon Cookie were present in Kingdom's files in v2.0 of the game—dating back to September of 2021, over a year and a half before they would become playable—but only in Japanese. While most files are the same as compared to the final release, many have been re-recorded, including the Skill lines. The files were swiftly removed in the very next version of the game.
- Pitaya Dragon Cookie's voice-line for their Skill was previously the same in both Korean and English languages, whereas other languages had their own distinct voice-line (still spoken in Dragontongue, but voiced by each language's respective voice actor). As of v4.6, the English language has received its own voice-line. All previous instances of Pitaya Dragon Cookie uttering Dragontongue in Legend of the Red Dragon Pt. 1 have also received their own voice-lines.
- Pitaya Dragon Cookie's original Legendary status from Cookie Run: OvenBreak was revised upon its addition to Kingdom, being changed to the new Dragon Rarity.
- They are currently the only Cookie in the Dragon Rarity.
- Pitaya Dragon Cookie shares its English voice actor, Andrew Morgado, with Royal Berry Cookie.
- Pitaya Dragon Cookie’s Taiwanese voice actor, Song Kejun, also provides the voice of Shady Noble.
- Pitaya Dragon Cookie shares its Thai voice actor, Ukrit Distakorn, with
Schwarzwälder.
