1) 3 NEW MAGIC CANDIES
Added the Magic Candy system, giving Cookies new abilities and/or upgrading their previously existing skills, increasing viability as well as adding to each Cookie's uniqueness. The first 3 Magic Candies available belong to Espresso Cookie, Vampire Cookie, and Purple Yam Cookie.
About Magic Candies
- When you create a Magic Candy, you upgrade the respective Cookie's existing skill or give the Cookie new abilities, increasing their power and allowing for new strategies.

Espresso Cookie's Magic Candy:
Perfect Extraction
- Skill Description: Precise and even grinding is key for magically delicious coffee! Vampire Cookie's Magic Candy:

Enemies hit by the skill suffer from the Vampiric Bite debuff. When the debuffed enemy is hit by a skill attack, the attack will always result in a critical hit. Vampire Cookie's regular attacks hit the three nearest enemies and restore his HP.
Crafting and Upgrading Magic Candies
- Magic Candies can be crafted from the Cookie menu after the Cookie has reached Lv.50.
- Levels boosted by the Hall of Ancient Heroes do not count. The Cookie needs to have reached Lv.50 via EXP Star Jellies to be eligible for crafting Magic Candy.
- Magic Candy crafting requires the newly added Soul Essence, Sugar Crystals, Cookie-specific resonant ingredients, and Coins.
- After crafting the Magic Candy, more of the same ingredients can be used to further upgrade the Magic Candy to a maximum of Level 30.
- The upgrade can result in Failure, Success, or even "Super Success" with certain probability.
- Super Success: Get some of your spent Soul Essence and Sugar Crystals back, and receive 300 Crystals as a reward for getting a Super Success. The upgrade following the Super Success will always have a 100% chance to succeed.
- Failure: Get all the ingredients spent (excluding any Coins spent) back, and your next attempt has a higher chance to succeed.

Additional Notice
This notice was posted on July 5, two days before this update's launch.
Greetings from the Kingdom team.
After the update sneak peak was published on July 1, you have shared a lot of valuable feedback regarding the upcoming update. We appreciate all of your comments and feedback greatly, and wanted to share additional changes as well as further explanation on the features.
The upgrade system in Cookie Run: Kingdom has remained without changes for a long time. We believed that we needed a new system where users could experience fulfillment and joy of obtaining and training their Cookies, which is why we are introducing 'Cookie Ascension' and 'Magic Candies.'
Many of you have shared a lot of feedback regarding the addition of these new upgrade systems. Some of you expressed concerns whether including these additions and changes may feel like a burden. We understand and agree that these new changes may have indeed seemed so. In order to resolve your concerns, we've gone through thorough examination and discussions on how to address the problems.
Before we go on to explain the details of the changes we are making, we first want to sincerely apologize to all of you for the concerns and worries caused by our initial reveal of the new systems. In addition to the changes listed below, we are planning many other improvements as well, and will continue to seek betterment for other parts of the game.
ADJUSTMENTS TO THE COOKIE ASCENSION SYSTEM
1. Total Amount of Ascension Soulstones required reduced by 50% overall
The Cookie Ascension system was first designed to alleviate some of the stagnation felt as players began to finish collecting and upgrading all the released Cookies. However, we failed to consider the unintended burden this could cause the players at the same time.
Since we intend for it to be a way to further increase power excitement about growing stronger and enjoying the game, we are planning on reducing the total amount of Ascension Soulstones required to ascend, to avoid the system taking away that same joy from the players, which is the opposite effect of what we want.
The previous amount of Ascension Soulstones required for each stage of Ascension was 40/60/80/100/120 respectively, but we will reduce these numbers by half so that only 20/30/40/50/60 Ascension Soulstones. will be required instead.
Even though we plan to alleviate some of the difficulty with the new Ascension system, a slight feeling of burden is unavoidable whena. new upgrade system is released. Furthermore, we plan to introduce events with rewards that will help players upgrade their Cookies to *5 more easily, as well as overall balance adjustments to rewards in the game. With this, we hope that all players will be able to enjoy the game more, as we keep doing our best to provide an amazing gaming experience for you.
2. Adjustments to previously overtuned stat increases from Cookie Ascension
The previous promotion systme was designed at launch with smaller increments, to prevent overly large power gaps affecting balance. Wich is why with the new Ascension system, we made the increments bigger, but this caused concerns within the community about that power gap becoming too large between players.
We decided that reducing these feelings of burden among the players, caused by the addition of new upgrade systems, is our first priority, so we will be reducing the size of the increments of the Ascension upgrades.
FULL INGREDIENT REFUNDS UPON MAGIC CANDY UPGRADE FAILURE
With the upcoming Magic Candies being upgradable to Level 30, as well as the upgrade systme including a chance of failure, concerns have been voiced by the community about losing out on gathered materials when failing to upgrade as well as the general difficulty fully upgrading the Magic Candies itself.
Our intent behind making the Magic Candy upgradable to 30 levels was to reduce the amount of ingredients needed for each individual step of upgrading so that each upgrade would be more accessible. The upgrade fail chance, as well as the super success chance, were both designed to add some unexpectedness to the process, which is why we also designed the system to give back some of the ingredients used after failing to upgrade.
However, as even a slight amount of ingredients lost from failure would result in a sense of loss, we have decided to change the system to always return 100% of the ingredients used, excluding Coins spent.
SOULDSTONE MILEAGE REWARDS FOR ALL
We heard your concerns regarding the Mileage system rewards getting delayed due to the addition of the AScension system, and that there needs to be adjustments made to accommodate this change.
To address the above concern and improve the existing mileage system, we have decided that Soulstones obtained before a Cookie is fully upgraded will also grant some amount of Mileage Points
- Throuhg obtaining Special Cookies's(sic) Soulstones you will get the same amount of Mileage Points as for Epic Cookies' Soulstones.
- Soulstones purchased in the Mileage Shop will not reward extra mileage.
Bonus Mileage Points for Promoting Cookies
With a system that allows players to receive Mileage for obtaining Cookie Soulstones before they reach max grade, it would mean upgrading all Cookies to ★5 would result in approximately 90,000 additional Mileage, and upgrading them to ★5A would result in an additional 110,000 mileage, totalling 200,000 additional Mileage Points earned.
Through this new reward system, we hope to make the process of obtaining Mileage for new and returning users, who still have yet to promote their Cookeis to ★5, more accessible and enjoyable.
'Soulstone Mileage' Batch Delivery According to Number of Soulstones
Along with the above Mileage Points reward system, we will be delivering Mileage based on the number of Soulstones you've obtained by the July 7 update. Up to 90,000 Mileage will be delivered as 'Soulstone Mileage' rewards. Please find the details of the reward in the patch notes or a separate notice.
As we were eager to improve certain aspects of our game with this update, we introduced various feaetures all at once, such as the Cookie Odyssey: Ch.3, a new Cookie, Master Mode in World Exploration, Magic Candies, Ascension, Magic Laboratory, Landmark Sky Gardens, etc.
We understand that the introduction of multiple new upgrade systems and features in a single update could feel like a burden to the players or make it more difficult to accustom to the game for new and returning users. In addition, such decisions may raise concerns as to where the game is heading.
It was not our intention to burden our players or make the game difficult for new or returning players; we sincerely apologize for the frustration and disappointment caused by this.
Thank you for voicing your concerns and pointing out future potential issues that may arise from these changes. WE took all your valuable comments and suggestions to heart, and will continue to reflect and review on our endeavors. The entire Kingdom team has been discussing the aspects of this update that need improving and will continue to make additional adjustments on top of the mentioned features to ensure a happy and enjoyable kingdom life for all.
With love,
Your Kingdom team
