Magic Candy

Crystal Jam

Espresso Cookie, Vampire Cookie, and Purple Yam Cookie, the first three cookies to get Magic Candies.

Magic Candies are upgradable items that enhance a Cookie's Skill, being added in the Heroes of the Light update (v3.3). They are unique to each playable Cookie and, upon first being created, modify their respective Skills by increasing their number values and providing additional effects. Only certain Cookies have access to a Magic Candy, though this group is ever-expanding. There are 35 Magic Candies currently in the game.

Magic Candies can only be used by Cookies of Lv.50 or higher, not including those enhanced by the Hall of Ancient Heroes.

Crafting and Upgrading[]

Magic Candies can be accessed from a Cookie's info screen. Upgrading a Magic Candy requires Soul Essence, Sugar Crystals, and Resonant Ingredients. Each Cookie has a unique Resonant Ingredient required to craft from the Magic Laboratory and upgrade their Magic Candy, and also requires one out of the three types of Sugar Crystals. At levels +10, +20, and +30, Magic Candies will also provide and upgrade a specific additional effect.

Similarly to Toppings, the success rate of upgrading will decrease with each additional level. Failing an attempt will refund all ingredients other than Coins and increase the next attempt's rate of success by 5%. Upgrading a Magic Candy will also have a fixed 5% chance of Super Success, which will return some of the used ingredients and guarantee success for the next upgrade.

Story[]

Magic Candies were first created by Espresso Cookie, the Crème Republic's lead researcher in the efforts to transfer Soul Jam's power into vessels that Cookies other than the Ancient Heroes could utilize. They are built out of compressed sugar spheres and a specific ingredient that resonates with the user's soul; without the resonant ingredient, the spheres are either unable to contain the Soul Jam's power or become unusable by others, who will instead suffer a negative reaction with the Magic Candy's flavor. Although the Institute of Thaumaturgy quickly discovered the use of sugar spheres, it would not be until Espresso Cookie accidentally stains one of the vessels with coffee that the first Magic Candy was truly created.

While the Crème Republic would transition to Pearl Candies, a similar vessel made out of pearl that could be mass-produced and resonated with House Oyster's guards, Espresso Cookie would continue his research in other Kingdoms, locating volunteers whom might have a Resonant Ingredient that could be imbued into a Magic Candy.
