It is said that when nocturnal darkness descends upon the vast desert, obscuring a lone traveler's sense of space and direction, a 
blurry-eyed being draped in a single white sheet of dough may appear.
"Please, follow me... I shall bring you to a better place..."
The peculiar being has a pair of little wings, yet it walks. Occasionally, the being will ask the traveler following them, "Do you, perhaps, find my presence unsettling...?" And, without waiting for a reply, they will go on, "Fear not... For I am a good Cookie..." Soon, a radiant city of gold will appear on the horizon amidst the darkness. In this opulent city, abundant with delights beyond imagination, every denizen is dressed in a sumptuous attire adorned with glittering embellishments...

"I have no need for such expensive clothes! All these Coins could have been used to feed the hungry!"
Black Raisin Cookie stood before the city's ruler whose height could put pyramids to shame, the Ever-Radiant Goddess-Queen of Abundance, 
Golden Cheese Cookie. The Golden Sovereign looked down upon her visitor, amused.
"Tell me, is my gift of benevolence not to your liking? Here, in my domain, I have the power to fulfill anyone's wish. Even you tiny crows'!"
And with a flick of the queen's wrist, gleaming golden trinkets appeared around the crows' necks. The crows began cawing in content. "You little..." Black Raisin Cookie muttered.
"Observe, for this is but a sliver of my power!" As Golden Cheese Cookie raised her arms, gems and gold rained down on the ground to the awed cheers of the crowd. The mysterious draped guide's wings grew noticeably stronger, allowing them to soar in the air.
"I can fly...! Oh, happy day...!"
Everyone rejoiced at the display of the Golden Queen's miraculous powers. The air outside was filled with the sound of supercars flashing by the palace. The streetlights glittered together with the rest of the city's countless golden lights. Golden Cheese Cookie glanced upon her hand-crafted Golden Paradise, delighted.
At this very moment, a bright comet crossed the jet-black sky, leaving clouds of shimmering star particles behind. It was 
Stardust Cookie, descending rapidly from the far orbit, sleek golden wings folded behind his back.
"What a spectacle to behold! And yet..." uttered Stardust Cookie. "Like all great civilizations, its light is fated to be extinguished." His gaze was tinged with melancholy. "Soon, a choice will be present before the ruler of this realm. A choice like no other, it will take many a night before a decision will be reached, but even so... It will be a mere glimpse in the grand scheme of the universe." Golden Cheese Cookie's eyes followed the comet until it faded beyond the horizon, and the night sky was calm and dark once more.
"A star like that may shine bright, but it is only a matter of time before it burns into ashes. What if... a similar fate awaits this perfect city of mine...?" The queen brushed off the thought. "It cannot be. The Golden City is forever, forever without pain and sorrow." And as though having heard her words, the city's light kept sparkling into eternity...
