Overview |
Don't worry, I won't hurt you... or will I?
Devil Cookie (Korean: 악마맛 쿠키, akma-mat kuki) is a Rare Cookie released along with Red Velvet Cookie in the second half of the Tiers of Chaos update (v1.5). They are of the
Magic type and their position is prioritized to the
Middle.
They are the polar opposite of Angel Cookie, often being seen openly resenting them and preferring more mischievous pastimes—though they were made through similar angelic means.
Game Description[]
Devil Cookie is mysterious in many ways. This Cookie might look hot and spicy but tastes like fizzy cola. According to a trustworthy source, they are made of bat extract and a few drops of carbonated beverage. Little trickster's ultrasonic powers allow them to see Cookie souls invisible to the others. Devil Cookie is also capable of summoning the horribly powerful and tremendously sugary Devilish Rune straight from the fiery lower trays of existence.

Appearance[]
Devil Cookie is a small, stocky Cookie that resembles an archetypal imp. They wear a black hood that has two drips like melted chocolate on one side, with small demon horns poking out of the top, and they have two bat-like wings on their back. They also carry a candy cane shaped like a pitchfork. They have orange-red dough with a white "X" on their belly that is slightly uneven, along with a long tail with a pointed tip. Devil Cookie is among the few Cookies to have a mouth that is fully colored in—it has two little fangs and is almost always mischievously smiling. They have yellow eyes and one eyebrow constantly raised. They have white hooves.
Personality[]
Devil Cookie's introduction video implies they make nefarious deals and contracts with other Cookies, further suggesting the price would be the Cookie's soul, much like depictions of devils in literature. Much of their dialogue and their skill heavily imply that many Cookies have met this unfortunate fate. In the Shroomie Shenanigans Story, despite the story itself being an April Fools' joke, it is suggested that Devil Cookie's primary job is to punish Cookies, while Angel Cookie, as their opposite, is in charge of rewarding them. They seem to enjoy being feared by other Cookies, constantly pulling pranks on them.
The Korean, Japanese, Taiwanese and Mainland Mandarin versions of the game explicitly state that Devil Cookie was formerly an Angel Cookie, corrupted by carbonic acid and bat extract, therefore making them a fallen angel. It is unknown what Devil Cookie was like prior to their corruption. Angel Cookie is shown to trust Devil Cookie despite the latter's resentment of them, implying they may have been friends at one point. In Angels & Devils, they already know each other and are stated to bicker constantly. Angel Cookie treats Devil Cookie like an old friend, but Devil Cookie does not reciprocate it, treating them as a rival instead.
Trivia[]
- Devil Cookie is the first Rare Cookie to be released after the launch of the game and is the only one in the Second Cookie Legion. They are also the first Cookie who was originally cut to be released.
- In previous Cookie Run installments, Devil Cookie was of the S-Grade, which was the equivalent of the modern day Epic rarity. However, they were downshifted to the Rare rarity starting with Cookie Run: OvenBreak.
- Devil Cookie's Skill, Devilish Rune, depicts an image of the Super Devil, drawing in visible Cookie spirits like a vortex. In previous titles, Devil Cookie physically turns into the ghostly Super Devil for their ability instead, stated to consume everything in its path.
- Despite being an otherworldly Cookie in the same vein as
Angel Cookie and
Onion Cookie, Devil Cookie does not have any reverb effect applied to their voice. It may be related to their status as a fallen angel.
- Devil Cookie's history of having been corrupted seems similar to
White Lily Cookie's backstory. However, the details of Devil Cookie's past as an Angel Cookie are only mentioned and hinted at, and not expanded upon nearly as much as
Dark Enchantress Cookie's origin. They seem to be a more direct allusion to Lucifer's fall.
- Devil Cookie is the only Cookie to have an English quote that directly breaks the fourth wall, in which they ask the player to "touch the screen and see what happens".
- Devil Cookie's Korean voice actress, Kim Seo-yeong, also provides the voice of
Belle Cookie. In addition to her reprising her role as Devil Cookie, Kim also provides the voice of GingerDozer in Cookie Run: Kingdom's sister game, Cookie Run: Witch's Castle.
- Devil Cookie's German voice actor, Alexander Merbeth, also provides the voice of
Vampire Cookie, and their French voice actor, Jean-Louis Tilburg, also provides the voice of
Red Velvet Cookie.
- Alexander Merbeth and Jean-Louis Tilburg both also provide the voice of
Wind Archer Cookie.
- Alexander Merbeth and Jean-Louis Tilburg both also provide the voice of
- Devil Cookie's Taiwanese Mandarin voice actress, Shi Caiwei, passed away on an undisclosed date in 2024 at the age of 40.

- ↑ Inferred; Devil Cookie is most likely the same age as
Angel Cookie, a known child. This can be extrapolated from the fact that they are a "byproduct of Angel Cookie batter exposed to dark magic" according to their LINE description. Many Cookies identical to the playable Angel Cookie can be seen in background elements throughout the Cookie Run series, appearing to be of the same age as them; therefore, if Devil Cookie was created from the same means as these child Angel Cookies, it can be assumed that they, too, are a child. Devil Cookie's Room of Carbonated Evil Decor Theme in Cookie Run: Witch's Castle also includes children's toys such as crayons, a soccer ball, and a piñata.
