Cookie Run: Kingdom's development is haunted by a number of characters once planned to appear but scrapped for one reason or another.

Playable Characters[]

NPCs[]

Crimson Moon Acolite (npc0001)[]

Crimson Moon Acolite(sic) is an unused NPC present in the game's files at launch (v1.0). Their NPC ID is npc0001, and their name is sourced from string ID CharacterList.Name.1731688681. As of v3.0 or earlier, the character's string data was been removed from the game's files, though their asset data remains as of the Awakening of White Apathy update (v5.5).

Crimson Moon Acolite has a substantial amount of content, including story sprites, overworld animations, concept art, and a head icon. They were featured as a Cookie in the player's kingdom in an early investor trailer, perhaps indicating that they were even playable at some point.

Based on their appearance and name, it can be assumed that this character had a relation to Dark Moon Magic and/or Black Magic. A general tie to magic can be confirmed with this character, as they appear directly alongside The Art of Cookie Run: Kingdom's entry on the five magic types.

Lost Young Cookie & Lost Dad Cookie[]

Lost Young Cookie and Lost Dad Cookie are unused NPCs added in the Legend of the Red Dragon update (v4.5). They have no known image assets and thus no assigned NPC IDs. Their names are sourced from string ID CutSceneGroup.StringValue2.1624780969.02.1317447588/CutSceneGroup.StringValue2.1240181339.02.1317447588/CutSceneGroup.StringValue2.1749471225.02.1317447588 and CutSceneGroup.StringValue2.1749471225.03.1317447588 respectively. As of the Awakening of White Apathy update (v5.5), the characters' data remains in the game's files.

These Cookies are known to have been replaced by the Lost Creature Blueberry Spider and Monster Shop Merchant present in the Legend of the Red Dragon Special Episode's Lost Creature side-story. This is proven by the presence of the values 1624780969, 1240181339, and 1749471225 in Lost Young Cookie and Lost Dad Cookie's string IDs—these values appear in sequence in the IDs of the final Lost Creature dialogue sets. Like the Blueberry Spider in the final Story, Lost Young Cookie would have appeared in all three segments while, like Monster Shop Merchant, Lost Dad Cookie would have appeared in only the last segment.

These unique characters were likely replaced with existing characters to save extra time and effort during the update's creation.

Tearcrown Cookie (npc0331)[]

Tearcrown Cookie is an unused NPC who was added to the game's files in the A Mermaid's Tale update (v4.9). Their NPC ID is npc0331; their name is sourced from string ID CharacterList.Name.1268772108, such being the only unused name in the update's CharacterList IDs and having no dialogue strings attributed to it. As of the Awakening of White Apathy update (v5.5), the character's data remains in the game's files.

Based on their name, mermaid appearance, and location in both the text strings and image files, it can be assumed that this Cookie would have been a citizen of Tearcrown.
