“ Meow he he! Who do we have here! „
Bat-Cat (Korean: 뱃냥이, bet-nyang-ee) is Licorice Cookie's Pet, companion, and fellow antagonist, releasing at Cookie Run: Kingdom's launch. Although Bat-Cat is currently only an NPC in Kingdom, it is available as a Pet in Cookie Run: OvenBreak.
Bat-Cat appears in Episode 2 as an enemy and appears shortly in the Stories of multiple other World Exploration Episodes. It later appears again alongside Licorice Cookie and Choco Werehound Princess to meddle with the Hollyberry Kingdom's Princess Contest.
Game Description (OvenBreak)[]
Bat-Cat is always flapping its wings by Licorice Cookie's side. Its large ears are especially useful for using sonar to locate Jellies. Bat-Cat tried to prank, tease, and make fun of the Cookies from a long time, but each scheme failed. On the verge of giving up, the pet bumped into Licorice Cookie. The two instantly established a great friendship due to their common goals: making lives miserable!
Summary[]
Bat-Cat is the companion and fellow goon of Licorice Cookie, having met and formed a friendship over their mutual goal of making people miserable. It often acts more like a lesser familiar to Licorice Cookie than a Pet, always referring to him as "meowster", or "master" under its cat-like speech quirk. It seems to be cronies with Schwarzwälder as well.
Quite the spiteful being, Bat-Cat relishes in causing problems in people's lives and upsetting them—though it's not very good at this. It also is quite weak and quick to give up upon experiencing the slightest difficulty in completing a task. It is noticeably immoral as well and has no qualms with cheating to achieve what it desires.
Much like real-life bats, Bat-Cat can screech and use a form of echolocation to seek out objects; however, it doesn't seem to need such sonar skills to traverse its environment like a real bat may and only has been seen using this ability to locate Jellies. It also speaks with a cat-like quip, often speaking in puns by fusing the word "meow" with similar words, extending the R's in words as a sort of purring, and simply mewing on occasion.
As its name implies, Bat-Cat is a skeletal fusion between a bat and a cat—likely a vampire bat and a sphinx cat, specifically. It isn't bothered by sunlight like a real bat might and oddly has arms separate from its wings, technically giving it 6 limbs in total. Somehow, it seems to be able to use its wings like arms as well, perhaps combining its usual arms and wings into one set of limbs. It has no visible torso, leaving the rest of it held in place by an unseen force, and its tail is pointed in a way that resembles what one might see on a archetypal devil character.
