Bond Story

As usual, Custard Cookie III smiled with pride as he wielded his scepter and strolled through the streets. Like any other day, he was telling everyone of his royal heritage and rambling about being the kingliest of kings. Princess Cookie couldn’t help but smirk at the scene unfolding before her. Custard Cookie III’s crown and scepter were especially amusing. What’s more, the youngster’s makeshift crown could barely reach up to her eyes!

“Are you a king too?”

“Can’t even tell a princess apart?”

Alas, Princess Cookie wasn’t meant to savor her triumph as she rushed towards Custard Cookie III and tripped over her own dress. And headfirst too...

Custard Cookie III clicked his tongue in disappointment at the sight. “A royal must always show dignity!”

Nevertheless, Princess Cookie’s smile continued to beam with amusement as she dusted herself off. “Hehe, even if I trip and fall, I’m still a princess!”

The arrogance! As king, it was Custard Cookie III’s duty to serve an example to his denizens. Clearing his throat, he started delivering a royal proclamation. “A king must always see things from a humble-”

“Boring! Right now, I could be having fun, away from you!” she interrupted.

And it caused the floodgates to open. A speech of great length commenced. Princess Cookie could understand the youngster’s fervor for royal dignity and whatnot. Despising boredom and silence, she had fled the castle in hopes of finding adventure. She questioned and interjected to everything in this so-called proclamation. What stated as a speech soon turned into a fiery debate. What was a royal dynasty? What defined true royalty?

In the midst of this verbal battle of royals, Knight Cookie fidgeted back and forth as he hesitated to take a side. But despite his confusion, his sharp eye managed to notice a wrinkle on the young “king’s” crown. No matter the surroundings, Custard Cookie III cared very much for his regalia. Mentioning this slight flaw could end this more than lively debate. Surely this gambit could work?

Knight Cookie managed to slip in and mention the wrinkled crown. Lo and behold, the topic shifted both tone and subject in an instant.

“Thank you! That reminds me. A king must always look clean and proper!”

Once more, Princess Cookie countered. “Kings are Cookies too. Any Cookie can make a mistake.”

Thus began the second round. And both Princess and Custard Cookie III were too invested in the debate to notice Knight Cookie’s giving up and leaving.
